A 10th grader delivers her speech “Language Barriers.”

Students demonstrated their public speaking skills in Japanese in the annual high school Japanese speech contest on April 22 in OCSI’s cafeteria. Students from all 6 levels of Japanese participated. (Earlier in the year, all students had written a speech and presented it in class. The top 3 students from each class had the opportunity to deliver their speeches to a larger audience.)

The audience gathers while some of the speakers review their speeches one more time.
